Hi guys, REX here — and welcome back to my budget loadout series, where I cover cheap but reliable setups I genuinely recommend you try out.
Together with my community, I’ve set an upper price limit of 600 Hunt Dollars per loadout. I’ll keep things as cheap as possible without sacrificing efficiency — and I’ll always show you where you can cut costs further if you want to run these on an absolute budget.
Today we’re running the LeMat Carbine Marksman paired with the Conversion pistol — a highly versatile loadout that gives you options in almost every situation.
On the LeMat Carbine Marksman, I’m running regular ammo.
What makes this weapon so unique is the combination of a marksman scope and an underbarrel shotgun, allowing you to constantly adapt depending on the range of the fight. You can comfortably pressure players at range with the scope, then quickly swap to the shotgun whenever fights get more aggressive up close.
That said, I personally find this weapon performs best in close-to-mid range rather than long-range engagements. The 460 meters per second velocity is more than sufficient for most encounters, but you will definitely feel the slower bullet speed at very long distances.
The biggest strength of this setup is versatility, while the biggest weakness is mainly the learning curve. Swapping between ammo types and managing the shotgun mode can take some practice if you’re new to the weapon.
For my sidearm, I’m pairing it with the Conversion pistol running FMJ ammo.
The Conversion gives you excellent value for the cost, and FMJ allows you to pressure enemies behind cover with surprisingly strong penetration power.
For tools, I’m running knuckle knife, medkit, flare pistol, and choke bombs.
Consumable-wise, I’m keeping it simple:
A small vitality shot, a small regeneration shot, a large stamina shot to keep momentum high early game, and a waxed dynamite for aggressive plays.
Trait-wise, I typically run Necromancer, Vigilant, Blast Sense, Magpie, Dauntless, and Kiteskin for my first 10 points in solos. For teams, I would skip the last 3 and take Resilience instead.
Whenever I have the points, Fanning is an instant pickup for this loadout. The Conversion becomes incredibly strong at close range and pairs extremely well with the LeMat’s shotgun barrel since you won’t have to reload immediately after a shot.
You can also run traits like Scopesmith and Steady Aim if you want to stay in ADS more comfortably with the Marksman scope, although I personally didn’t feel they were necessary for this setup.
The total cost for this loadout is 557 Hunt Dollars, keeping it comfortably under the 600 Hunt Dollar cap.
You can reduce the cost further by removing FMJ on the Conversion, downgrading the stamina shot, swapping the flare pistol for fusees, or running the regular LeMat Carbine instead of the Marksman variant if you prefer iron sights.
This loadout is flexible, aggressive, and rewards good positioning. If you’re good at swapping between the scope, shotgun barrel, and Conversion depending on the situation, this setup can handle almost anything Hunt throws at you.
But without further ado — let’s dive into it.
