Post Malone’s FAVORITE Rifle! Krag Mastery | Hunt: Showdown 1896

Intro

Hi guys, Rex here!
The Krag is a long ammo rifle that comes with two main variants: the default iron sight variant, and the sniper variant.

The weapon deals 126 damage and has a velocity of 610 meters per second by default, as well as a drop range of 140 meters, which should be more than enough to land accurate shots in most scenarios without having to account for bullet drop.

The Krag can run FMJ ammo for increased penetration power and better damage retention over distance, but with this ammo type you’ll lose a lot of velocity.

The second ammo type for the Krag is incendiary, which behaves like regular ammo with two exceptions. First off, long ammo incendiary will set enemy hunters on fire with the first hit up to 40 meters away, if they don’t have the Salveskin trait enabled. Secondly, fire ammo cannot penetrate surfaces at all, which can be quite limiting in a lot of situations.

I ran both Krag variants for a couple of days.

For my sidearm I primarily play the Rival Mace, which allowed me to cover the close-range encounters.

This video features my best rounds. At the end of the video I’ll give you my thoughts and recommendations for this weapon – but without further ado, let’s dive into it

Thoughts & Recommendations

After having played the Krag for a couple of days, I can confirm what I already knew. This weapon is an absolute beast.

I regularly play the Krag in my loadouts, and especially the sniper variant which I find to be one of the most enjoyable sniper rifles in the game overall.

The iron sights on the default Krag feel amazing and are very easy to use.

126 damage makes it an ideal weapon because you will one shot to the torso if a hunter has lost a small health chunk after getting down or from taking fire damage.

The ammo capacity is also very decent, making this rifle a great option overall.

I played the rival mace with my Krag loadouts, which required me to take the Quartermaster trait. I felt this was necessary as the Krag is not optimal for close-range encounters in solo versus trios, however if I was playing in a team I might have taken the Sparks pistol instead to boost my ammo capacity.

What do you think about the Krag? Let me know in the comments, and until next time I’ll see you in the Bayou!
